Gas Turbine Air Intake Filters
Gas turbines have a high demand of ambient air, maybe more than a million cfm. Because even small airborne particles can cause
significant damage on parts like turbine blades they need to be removed. Factors like air volume,
flow restriction (pressure drop), particle efficiency, and total dust load are to be considered when designing
an air inlet filtration unit. They usually do not come in small sizes. The ambient conditions from freezing arctic,
off shore to desert environments are challenging the system engineering.
